Professor Helen Marshall

Professor Marshall is one of Australia’s most celebrated and recognised vaccination experts. She has been involved in studies that have had a global impact including the ‘B Part of It’ study, which assessed the effectiveness of meningococcal B vaccines on invasive meningococcal disease in over 24,000 Australian teens and young adults. This led to the implementation of a free Men B vaccine program in South Australia. In recognition of Professor Marshall’s leadership, she was awarded 2023 SA Scientist of the Year, 2022 SA Australian of the Year and 2022 SA Woman of the Year and in 2021 she was made a Fellow of the Australian Academy Health and Medical Sciences.
